Supplemental Rules for Karts
Kart events will be run according to the 2002 Solo2 Rulebook,
Appendices G
and H. These rules are the SFR supplement to those rules.
Participants should be familiar with these rules
SFR runs only four classes of Karts at our events
Detailed rules for each class are defined below.

F125 Shifter Karts Age 16 and over

Junior 1: Age 8 to 11, 5HP, 4 cycle Box-Stock
Briggs & Stratton Type Karts only.

Junior 2: Age 12 to 15, Same karts as Junior
1

Junior 3: Age 12 to 15, Same karts, but up
to 100cc
SFR Supplemental Kart Rules
-
Karts must be eligible to run in a national sanctioning body such as IKF
or WKA, and pass a special kart technical inspection
-
It is the responsibility of the driver to prove the kart's eligibility
with a set of current official rules for the class.

All karts must meet safety requirements of SCCA.

Required Driver's equipment:
-
Full-face SNELL 85 or later M or SA helmets,
-
protective clothing as specified in the rulebook,
-
gloves,
-
high-top shoes.
F125 Shifter Karts - Age 16 and older

Any race prepared kart that is not in a class higher than 125 will be eligible.
For instance, 80cc karts and KT-100s are eligible.

F125 drivers must meet qualifications for Solo2: street licensed, 16 or
older.

F125 Drivers must also meet the age limits of the licensing kart sanctioning
body
Junior 1 - Ages 8 to 11

Motor will be box-stock Briggs Raptor I, II or III.
-
Gas only, no methanol.
-
Must have muffler.
-
No performance modifications will be allowed.

All chassis must be a Sprint Racing chassis as described in the Sprint
kart rules section of the current IKF rulebook. Open tire. Maximum rear
track width 50 inches.

All drivers must have attended an SCCA driving school or have prior karting
experience.
Junior 2 - Ages 12 to 15.

Karts specifications same as Junior 1.

Driving school or prior driving experience not required but are recommended.
Junior 3 - Ages 12 to 15

Sprint chassis (open tire also) as per Junior 1 and 2 but allowing the
following motors:

Briggs Blue Wazoom (4-stroke). Methanol allowed. Engine must be sealed.
Karts must weigh 290 lbs. with driver. May run straight pipe.

Yamaha 100 cc. Jr. Sportsman (2-stroke). Engine must conform to current
IKF rules for this class. Gas and oil only.

Karts must weigh 280 lbs. with driver.
-
Driving school or prior driving experience not required but are recommended.
